Barcode Scanner Hardware

Is it a requirement to use the barcode scanners provided by HI-IQ or can the software interact with other brands?

It is not required to use HI-IQ supplied barcode readers. However, hardware not supplied by ConexSys will not be guaranteed to work.  We suggest that you test the barcode scanner for compatibility with HI-IQ by performing the steps below:

1) Head over to a workstation that has one the devices installed

2) Open ‘Notepad’ or ‘Word’

3) Place the cursor in the above application

4) Scan a barcode into ‘Notepad’ or 'Word'

5) Does the barcode immediately display within ‘Notepad’?

You should see scans appear real-time (not batch) within the application. If they do, then you should be safe to use the scanners with HI-IQ. Please let us know the results of the test, including the make and model of the scanner so that we can update the list of compatible devices below:

Opticon OPT-6125 - USB, wired scanner

Opticon OPR-2001 - USB, wired scanner with a low profile

Symbol LS4278 - a wireless handheld scanner with Bluetooth capability
